Todd Starnes Says a SCOTUS Marriage Equality Ruling Will “Open the Floodgates”

Anytime you hear a right wing pundit warn that some new law or court ruling will “open the floodgates” to something, first you’ll need to drink if you’re playing the right wing pundit drinking game. Second, prepare for paranoid ravings about how conservatives, particularly Christian conservatives, are going to be persecuted as a result. And Todd Starnes does not disappoint in this regard. Here he recycles old right wing fundamentalist Christian paranoia about what will happen once any kind of equality legislation helping the LGBT community passes (in this case, a Supreme Court ruling that could make same sex marriage legal in all 50 states):
Pastors being arrested and charged with hate crimes:
I do believe that if the Supreme Court does move forward and affirm this ruling…I suspect that it is going to open up the floodgates. And I believe, Pastor Matt, that you are going to see militant LGBT activists directly target churches and directly targeting pastors and I think that we, in the very near future, could see American pastors brought up on hate crime charges for preaching from the Bible”
Previously on Todd Starnes gets unhinged :
